Description
The body of the samovar is in the shape of an egg, the wall is covered with mechanical engraving – guilloche, a vegetation pattern. The lid is high, domed, decorated with guilloche. Crown slots are in the shape of rhombuses and crosses. The handles are made up of paired plates curved to the sides, stylized as bird heads. Attached to the body with an oval lining with chased ornament. Faucet spout is covered with chased ornaments resembling bird feathers, stylized under the head of a rooster. Valve handle is a curved plate in the shape of a cock’s crest. The neck is hollow, covered with a guilloche ornament of a geometric nature. The base is square, with a curly lower edge. Legs are high, with the ends bent up. On the base is a stamp: “A.Matissen.”
