Description
The body is cylindrical in shape, smooth. In the upper part there is a strip of engraved floral ornaments, in the lower part there are scenes depicting the Arctic sea, sailboats, islands, and seal hunting. The nose is wide, short, triangular in shape. The hinged lid is domed with a conical handle and a round bump. On the lid there is a relief overlay in the form of a leaf. On both sides of the body are short rods reinforced with round stepped base plates. The rods are inserted into the openings on the frame. The frame is arched in shape, consists of two long rods. At the top, the rods are decorated with a cast overhead ornament of a plat motif, connecting both rods. In the center of the ornament is a round, smooth bump. On both sides of the frame there are cylindrical openings for rods, on the outside of the openings there are decorative relief hooks. The frame is attached to the base using decorated conical brackets, on the two sides of the brackets there are additional holders, decorated, made as fragments of a floral decor. The base is round, low, with an engraved image of sailboats and the Arctic Sea. In the center of the base is a hole covered by a removable round fryer with small holes. The hole pattern resembles a star. At the bottom of the body the brand: “James W. Tufts Boston warranted quadruple plate” (guaranteed, fourfold coverage)
