The tradition of ceramics and proclaim home decor dates back in history. Far back some particular types of folk crafts originated from ceramic and porcelain crafts. There have been, and they had lived to date, for both entertainment (toys, ornaments, bells) and household appliance (utensils, tiles, cookware etc). Maiolica, that shaped the development of artistic clay in sculpture and design, is in a class of its own.
Maiolica making process is unique and sophisticated. First, they make an object itself from red clay, then it gets gradually covered with double glaze, all completely hand-made from cover to cover. Double burning enhances the color and gives surface its signature precious shine.
